More than 150,000 delivery workers will share over $115 million in back pay after years of shortchanging by a major delivery platform. The remaining $16 million covers civil penalties and enforcement costs.
City officials said the action sends a clear message that every hour of honest work deserves fair compensation.
“This settlement proves that when we stand together, we can protect the dignity of every worker,” said a city labor advocate.
“I feel seen and valued for the first time in years,” shared one longtime delivery worker.
