Orangutan wears sunglasses dropped by zoo tourist — and more incredible stories
- There’s always amusing stuff on the internet.
- For one, an orangutan wearing a pair of sunglasses dropped by a tourist won the internet’s heart.
- Having incredible stories as a week-ender is a good idea, we think. Read through!
In this modern time, internet has become a primary source of almost anything, like funny, amusing stories for one. So, here are five great stories to cap off your week.
1. Orangutan 1, Tourist 0
Lolita Testu’s zoo visit in Indonesia did not go as expected.
She lost her pair of sunglasses when she dropped it into the orangutan enclosure. But if that’s what it takes to gain 45 million views on TikTok, she actually didn’t’ mind!
In a snap, the orangutan has won the internet’s heart! And we see why.
@minorcrimes So I’m down a pair of sunglasses but up a very good story #monke ♬ original sound – Lola Testu
2. Young Athletes with Golden Dreams
Knowing that someone looks up to you is one thing, but watching how that someone adores you is another.
We totally get it why Suni Lee, Team USA women’s gymnastics member and individual all-around gold medalist, was moved to tears upon seeing a video of an eight-year-old Hmong gymnast who caller Suni her hero.
Speaking of young athletes, this little kid also got inspired to be in the Olympics! Aww, cuteness overload!
3. Olympic Family Reunions
Coming home to their families is any Olympian’s winning moment.
The women’s gymnastics team were welcomed by families and fans in the TODAY Plaza, and all we could see were warm smiles!
The cutest welcoming committee, though, was the two daughters of America’s unofficial Olympic Team Mom, Hoda Kotb of TODAY, who covered the Games in Tokyo.
4. Delighted Dad
Singer and songwriter Andy Grammer (“Honey, I’m Good,” “Keep Your Head Up”) has been raising money to send children to summer camp, and he has the cutest strategy! Thanks to her daughter’s help.
No doubt, Andy is enjoying fatherhood.
“It’s the best thing in the world,” he told TODAY Parents.
5. All Together Now!
“There’s 104 days of summer vacation” was all singer Rence needed to engage the crowd at Lollapalooza 2021 in a giant singalong. And one of the songwriters of the “Phineas and Ferb” theme song took notice.
Dan Povenmire was touched by the performance and the crowd’s enthusiastic response.
“I’ve always said that writing songs was the closest thing you can get to immortality…” he wrote over the video. “Swampy and I wrote this 16 years ago and these young people will still remember it after we are gone.
“I just wanna say thanks for my little slice of immortality.”
So, all together now! “There’s 104 days of summer vacation…”
