Kayden Beasley’s journey began in a Chinese orphanage without lower leg bones, yet he was destined for greatness on the ice. Adopted at age three by a loving North Carolina family, he grew up surrounded by support that helped him view his challenges as mere milestones.

Everything changed when a chance suggestion at a doctor’s office introduced him to the Carolina Hurricanes sled hockey club. Kayden proved to be a natural talent, quickly rising through the ranks to join Team USA’s development program.

It’s all I’ve ever known. My adoption is a part of the journey, but not all of it.

Kayden shared regarding his path to becoming an elite athlete.

At just 19 years old, Kayden powered through the 2026 Winter Paralympics in Italy as one of the team’s youngest stars. He played in every game, contributing crucial goals and assists that secured a gold medal for the United States.
