Susan Powter, once a household name for her energizing fitness infomercials, has wrapped up nearly a decade of food deliveries with one final Uber Eats order in Las Vegas, witnessed by Al Roker. After years of living paycheck to paycheck, Powter is filled with renewed optimism thanks to the release of a touching documentary detailing her personal journey.
“I had lost hope,” she shared, reflecting on her unexpected path.
The documentary “Stop the Insanity: Finding Susan Powter” has reconnected her with a broad audience, bringing encouragement and possibilities at a time she needed it most. The heartfelt support from viewers has helped her see a brighter future.
Al Roker joined Powter as she bid farewell to her delivery job, learning about the daily realities of gig work and hearing Powter’s gratitude for being able to persevere. While she won’t miss the deliveries, she remains thankful for the opportunity they provided her during tough times.
On her last stop, Susan met Tyler, a young man whose kindness stood out, inspiring a conversation about the importance of spreading positivity. “It’s better to be kind. There’s not enough of that in the world,” Tyler noted.
Now, with new doors opening, Powter dreams of writing, teaching, and sharing wellness, connecting with people online and across the country. She feels inspired by the outpouring of stories from those facing similar struggles.
“Every day, comments. ‘I understand, I’m going through the same thing, I feel invisible, too.’ … And the love. I love the love. I’m so proud of and grateful for everything that’s happening,” Powter expressed.
Though she won’t rebuild her old brand, she plans to explore fresh creative ventures and travel the country to meet people from all walks of life, focusing on issues like fitness, aging, and community challenges.
Uber Eats marked this turning point by donating $10,000 to The Just One Project, Powter’s favorite Las Vegas charity, offering even more to celebrate in her new chapter.
