Juan Leon, owner of Minnesota’s newest tow truck service, noticed a surge in abandoned vehicles following Operation Metro Storm. He quickly realized he could use his skills to support families impacted by these circumstances.

Leon has spent the past four months bringing vehicles back to families at no charge, sometimes working alone and other times helping at relatives’ requests.

“Seeing there was a need for someone to help out, help clear the streets and get the people back their vehicles. So we stepped up and started doing it,” Leon shared.

Leon takes calls from families or finds a way to safely move cars when needed. “Families reach out to us,” Leon explained. “If the family isn’t reaching out, we’ll find a way to get inside the vehicle and we’ll bring it back to their house and put it in a safe spot.”

Thanks to donations from across the country, Leon can afford to continue this good work, even though towing typically comes with high expenses. He estimates he’s helped return approximately 250 cars, providing relief and hope to many facing difficult times.

Leon acknowledges these moments can be emotional, but he remains encouraged to continue helping his community.
