Antonio Brown sat in the stands as his nephew, Tyon Newsome, received his diploma from William M. Raines High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Antonio could hardly contain his pride and cried tears of joy.

Tyon is the first male on either side of the family to earn a high school diploma. Tyon worked hard to make it happen, even on the most challenging days.

“I almost quit a couple times…I thought I couldn’t do it, I thought it was too hard for me.”

But he persevered. And what a triumph it turned out to be.

The uncle explained that Tyon’s graduation was an important moment for generations in his family.

“Seeing him get to finish it and complete it the right way, that really meant a lot to me.”

Antonio’s video received incredible feedback from strangers across social media. He wrote in the caption, “Proud unc mom. My nephew 17 and graduating from Raines. He’s the first male to walk across that stage to get his diploma in my immediate family on both sides. I’m happy for my boi.”
