  • Allie Miller’s sweet dachshund, Moose, celebrated his 16th birthday and the family wanted to give him something special to celebrate the milestone.
  • Allie surprised Moose with a car and a driver’s license, of course, to make it “legal.”
  • Allie made the license and included Moose’s birthday, height, weight, an initial for his middle name and the address “1234 Wiener Dog Central, Springfield, IL.”

Teens usually get their first at 16. That’s the ultimate present, right?

So when Allie Miller’s dachshund Moose celebrated his 16th birthday, she wanted to give him something special to celebrate the milestone.

“We jokingly call Moose our little grumpy old man when really he is one of the sweetest pups I know,” Allie told The Dodo. “He’s extremely goofy and his old age has not slowed him down a bit!”

Moose loves taking relaxing rides in the car, besides eating Popsicles, going on walks with the neighbor’s dog and barking at squirrels. Compared to a human’s age, Moose can already be considered a senior.

So, Allie thought of surprising Moose with a little car of his own. And how can you drive a car without a license, right? Allie thought of that too and presented Moose with a driver’s license to make sure everything was “legal.”

She made the special license herself, and the final result was perfect: “I found a stock image online and Photoshopped everything to be accurate for Moose,” Miller said. “I wanted it to look as real as I possibly could to make the joke even better.”

Allie included Moose’s birthday, his height, weight, an initial for his middle name and the address “1234 Wiener Dog Central, Springfield, IL.”

During Moose’s birthday, Allie placed him in a Little Tikes car adorned with a big bow next to his license for a birthday photoshoot. The dachshund was cool about the whole thing and seemed to enjoy the special attention.

“We do tend to go all out for Moose’s birthday every year,” Allie said. “He’s a huge part of our family so his day is just as special, it’s to the point where my parents, brother, sister, her fiancé, and myself actually sing happy birthday to him. I’d be lying if I said he wasn’t spoiled!”

“He was one happy boy,” Allie added. “He enjoys a nice car ride so I think he was excited to finally have his own.”
