A dog got so excited about receiving his gotcha day treat that he seemed to forget he already had a ball in his mouth.

In a video shared on TikTok, it was explained that Aussiedoodle Hank was celebrating his gotcha day, but his parents were away on their honeymoon. Their parents did not forget the special occasion, though, and left a treat for him, to be given by his uncle.

Hank showed admirable patience as he waited for the go signal to eat his treat. He ran to the treat as soon as he heard the word “go,” but he abruptly stopped and got confused.

He was confused that he had to choose between the ball and the treat!

Hank spent nearly a minute pacing frantically between the treat and his bed, but he can’t seem to figure out why he can’t get the treat — all while the ball was still in his mouth. His uncle was similarly confused about Hank’s actions and told him, “You gotta drop the ball.”

Hank retires for a moment on his bed, seemingly accepting defeat, then interprets his uncle’s exasperated “okay” as another go signal for him to get his treat. He tries to pick up the treat with his mouth but to no avail. His mouth was still very much full, but he couldn’t figure it out!

Finally, he let go of his ball and proceeded to take the treat back to his bed. He seemed to be relishing it after getting so worked up about making the difficult choice to drop the ball to make room for his treat.
