Lindsey Vonn had a catastrophic accident at Milano Cortina 2026. Crews airlifted the Olympic gold medalist from the slopes and took her for treatment of a serious fracture.

Her injury, coupled with compartment syndrome, nearly caused her to lose her leg. Lindsey Vonn worked extremely hard for months to heal and strengthen her body, and that showed on May 4, 2026.

She showed up at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for the annual Met Gala looking like a supermodel, and fans cannot believe her recovery.

From Wheelchair to Red Carpet

Lindsey Vonn posted photos from the Met Gala on Instagram along with a very sweet message.

“From a wheelchair 3 months ago to the Met gala. Slowly I have made my way back. Thank you @thombrowne for making me feel like a princess. It was truly a magical night.”

“Thom and Andrew I love you congratulations to you both on a spectacular night and exhibit! And thank you to the most amazing team and friends. You’re the best and I couldn’t do it without you!”

“Stunning! Love the dress (apart from the white on bottom, wish it had still been the statue look.) and you looked beautiful. Well done on getting out and moving so far forward in your recovery so quickly. Incredible.”
