  • Jayden Sutton walks to and from his work after school every day.
  • Lavonda Wright learns of the teenager’s situation and decides to help by setting up a GoFundMe page to raise funds to buy a new car.
  • The teenager now has a new car thanks to Wright and all who donated.

When school finishes at 3:30pm, Teenager Jayden Sutton walks to his work at a restaurant.  Between six to eight hours later, he makes his way home.  The trek makes him sometimes arrive at their house until almost midnight.

His mom recently got laid off and several weeks ago, her car got totaled.  Jayden is working hard to earn enough money to buy himself a new car.

Jayden said, “I knew if I had to walk to work every day to get a car, that’s what I was going to do. If I had to walk home, then that’s what I was going to do.”

But fate is kind. Thanks to Lavonda Wright saw Sutton who saw Jayden walk down Brownsville Road in Powder Springs on his way to work one day.

Wright said, “He was walking really fast down the road and my son stopped me and tapped me and said, ‘I think that’s Jayden.’”

GOD DID IT YALL ???????????? ‼️Plz know GOD PROVIDES‼️????Jayden no more walking 7 miles to work after school young man. GOD bless…Posted by Lavonda Wright Myers on Thursday, 14 January 2021

Jayden and her son are friends. Wright stopped and decided to give Jayden a ride to his work.  That’s where she learned about the trek that Sutton makes every day. And she could not stop thinking about the teenager’s plight and felt that she needed to do something about it.

She decided to help raise funds to buy the teenager a vehicle and created a GoFundMe page.  Her initial goal was just $4,000 but donations have already reached more than $7,000.

After convincing the general manager of Nalley Honda dealership in Union City to drop the price of a vehicle, Wright finally had a car for Jayden!

Upon receiving the car, a happy Jayden tells Wright, “I just want to say thank you. A million times. You don’t understand how much.”

And for those who are working hard to achieve a goal or dream, Jayden adds: “If you’re doing something good or trying to reach a goal, keep doing it. You might get some help. That’s what happened to me.”

Thanks to Wright, Jayden no longer has to walk daily to and from work.

What a big difference kindness makes.
