Quick Smiles:

  • Hawaii families cherish steady sleep for happier kids.
  • Arizona moms welcome one less parenting worry.
  • Territories enjoy year-round schedule bliss.

Parents in Hawaii, most of Arizona, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Virgin Islands, and Northern Mariana Islands skip daylight saving time disruptions entirely.

This means consistent routines and no spring-ahead crankiness for young children.

“Crossing time change off the list has been great for the kids,” says Mandy Dowies, who moved to Hawaii.

“The kids are so much better behaved when they get the rest they need without having to adjust to a new time change.”

Jennifer Marcuson, now in Arizona with her 6-year-old, agrees it’s just one less thing to worry about parenting-wise.

Rachel V. Smith returned to Arizona and loves ditching time changes for good.

“Once we moved back to Arizona and I didn’t have to worry about it anymore, it’s honestly so great.”

I feel like it was an experiment. We’ve tried it too long, now we need to quit.
