In a heartwarming act of compassion, Chiku Singh traveled from Dubai to Abu Dhabi to rescue a cat found living alone in an abandoned bathroom for two years. Despite many challenges, Singh visited daily for weeks until she could gently coax the scared cat out.

Once in Singh’s care, the cat received medical attention, vaccinations, and plenty of love. Tara Nova, whose name means ‘new star,’ is now waiting in a foster home, soon to travel to the United Kingdom for a new life.

“She’s such a gentle cat who has endured such hardship. It broke my heart when I first saw her,” Singh shared. “I’m so happy that she’s getting a new start.”

Singh noted that while local efforts are improving animal welfare, giving attention to strays remains vital. She believes that noticing and caring for forgotten animals can change their destinies for the better.

“Nova’s story could have ended in silence, but instead she curls up in comfort and safety on a soft blanket,” Singh reflected. “She was always a treasure, just waiting for someone to see her. Rescuing starts with noticing.”
