Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant suddenly closed all locations in the fall of 2025, leaving employees and customers heartbroken. The company sent an email to staff citing financial issues and bankruptcy proceedings.

Many thought that was the end of Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, but the chain is back in business, and fans couldn’t be more excited for the future.

Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant is in Comeback Mode

At one time, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant operated 22 breweries and employed more than 800 people. But the company grew rapidly, and things kind of fell apart.

With a strategic management team on board, the company has already opened four locations in Pennsylvania and a fifth in Delaware, with plenty more in the works.

“We had a really, really great thing going,” said Matt Gundrum, Director of brewery operations.

“There were some problems that we couldn’t overcome before, but now we know what they are and we know what to do in the future.”

The company recently celebrated the grand opening of its Hershey location, delighting fans.

“It’s one of the things you think of when you come to Hershey, so it’s a nice thing to have here,” customer Linda Boedero shared.

“I’m glad it’s back.”

Matt worked for Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant for decades before the closure, so being back feels like home.

“At first I was absolutely shocked when we closed down,” he said.

“I’d been with the company for 20 years of my life. So when I got that call back, it was like a rebirth, almost of who I was, not just the company coming back.”
