A woman unexpectedly gave birth in a public restroom at Johnny Morris’ Wonders of Wildlife Aquarium & Museum in Springfield, Missouri, turning an ordinary visit into a joyful milestone.

Senior dispatcher Eli Snider calmly coached a bystander through the delivery, offering steady support by phone as several women assisted the mother.

“She was my hands, my eyes,” Snider shared.

The baby arrived just four to five minutes after the call started, making it one of the quickest deliveries Snider had ever experienced.

“I could hear the baby cry and that made me very happy,” he recalled of the moment he knew all was well.

First responders soon arrived, and both mother and newborn were promptly cared for at a nearby hospital.

For Snider, who is also a dad, this experience stands out as a heartwarming reminder of the joy his work can bring.

“It’s great to hear about someone giving birth instead of someone being in absolute pain and misery from a motor vehicle accident. That’s what I’m taking away from the story.”
