Florida Church Eliminates Millions in Medical Debt
Quick Smiles:
- Transformation Church in Pensacola erased $6.5 million in medical debt for 4,400 local residents.
- The church collected $40,000 in donations and partnered with Undue Medical Debt to clear the debt.
- Recipients do not attend the church but will soon receive letters announcing their debt relief.
Thousands of families in Escambia County, Florida, are about to receive life-changing news thanks to an inspiring act of generosity from Transformation Church. By raising $40,000 and working with Undue Medical Debt, the church covered $6.5 million in outstanding medical bills for community members.
Lead Pastor Brad Livingston revealed the surprise announcement during a Sunday service, explaining that 4,400 residents will soon learn their burdens have been lifted.
“We already wrote the check to Undue Medical Debt; that’s the next step,” Livingston said.
The recipients are local residents, not members of the church, benefitting from the spirit of giving. Although privacy laws prevent knowing exactly who received help, the church was motivated simply by kindness and love for their city.
