Gorilla Mom Brings her Baby To Meet Human Mom and Newborn Visiting Zoo [Video]

• Emmelina and Michael Austin visited the zoo the other day with their 1-month-old son, Canyon.
• When they spotted a gorilla named Kiki tending to her own child, baby Pablo, Emmelina held up baby Canyon to show Kiki on the other side of the glass.
• To their surprise, Kiki carried baby Pablo over to meet them, and the two moms shared a special moment together with their babies!

A gorilla mom and a human mom shared a special moment together, along with their babies, at the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston.

Emmelina Austin visited the zoo the other day with her husband Michael and their 1-month-old son, Canyon.

As they stopped to see the gorillas in their enclosure, the new family spotted gorilla mom Kiki tending to her own baby gorilla, 7-month-old Pablo.

Emmelina had told her husband that “she felt like she could understand their bond and could see how much she cared for Pablo, since she is a mother now herself.”

The moment was about to feel magical as Emmelina held up baby Canyon to show Kiki on the other side of the glass.

Kiki then took baby Pablo, put him over her leg, and carried him over to show him to the human family!

The moms spent several moments just sitting peacefully together, separated only by the glass barrier, cradling their babies. Words did not need to be said — the silent bond was felt by everyone.

Michael recounted, “[Kiki] was talking to us with her hands. Pablo even pushed his face up to the glass at one point and they watched him, noses touching, together. My wife and I both had tears in our eyes.”

It was surely an unforgettable moment for the young family — and they will no doubt cherish it.

Michael described it as “one of the most amazing experiences” he’s ever had. He added that “such an incredible memory” only deserves to be recounted to their son in the future.

Emmelina and Kiki proved that a mother’s love knows no bounds and transcends all species.
