  • A great-grandmother is being hailed a hero after saving another elderly from getting robbed.
  • When 76-year-old Miss Faye saw a man come out of a car and attacked her neighbor, who is also in her late 70s, she immediately jumped into action.
  • Miss Faye’s ring video captured her bravely running out her front door and chasing off the robber with a cane.

A 76-year-old great-grandmother named Miss Faye is known to be a driving force in her community.

That’s why when she saved her elderly neighbor, Ann Butler, from being robbed, the community is not at all surprised. Ann called Miss Faye “her Hero.”

Miss Faye was looking outside her house when she noticed an unfamiliar car in front of her house.

The thief must have followed Ann as she walked home from a restaurant. The young man grabbed Ann’s purse as he passed but she did not let go. The two of them struggled, sending Ann to the ground. The attacker then began to drag her.

Miss Faye witnessed all these and didn’t hesitate to rush outside to help.

“I was yelling and the first thing I know, Faye who has bad knees, came rushing out with her cane, yelling and screaming and he hopped back in his car and drove off,” Ann recalled.

The cane-wielding Miss Faye was accompanied by her German Shepherd, Troy, and yelled at the attempted-robber to leave. She even threw her cane at the car as he drove away.

“If my knees weren’t hurting me, I think I would have been out there a little faster,” Miss Faye laughed.

Good thing neither woman was hurt. Ann was able to keep her purse. And Miss Faye is being hailed as a hero.

When Miss Faye was asked if she was ever afraid to intervene, Miss Faye says not one bit.

“I never thought about it. Fear never crossed my mind, cos I’m crazy I guess,” She says laughing. “I don’t know. It’s just something that’s in my nature. I do things, and it doesn’t bother me until a couple hours later. That’s how I’ve always been.”

“She is just a tough lady, she knows what she wants, she will get it no matter what and she loves her community and would do anything to protect it,” another neighbor, Mel Oppenheim said.

“She is my hero, I told her that, she is my hero,” Ann said.
