  • All involved, including bystanders, worked together to save the family.

In Makhachkala, Dagestan, the quick actions of three men saved a young boy trapped in a taxi that plunged into a rushing canal. Balancing on a metal pipe over icy waters, the men managed to pull the child through an open window just in time.

One rescuer even stripped down to his underwear to assist, undeterred by the freezing temperatures below. The boy was carefully handed from rescuer to rescuer until he reached safety on the canal bank.

Witnesses shared that after the child’s rescue, the mother and taxi driver were also brought to safety when other bystanders entered the water with a rope. The taxi driver, Nurislam Ramazanov, said he lost control while trying to avoid an obstacle, causing the car to skid uncontrollably.

“The child went out the window first,” Ramazanov said. “The guys caught him. The child didn’t even get wet — there was no water inside the cabin. The baby was dry.”

The courageous teamwork on display brought relief and gratitude to everyone who witnessed the rescue.

Stories like this remind us of the power of community and bravery in moments of crisis. Stay inspired by everyday heroes!
