  • Two years ago, on his 21st birthday, Jaden Smith decided to celebrate it with his I Love You food truck.
  • The food truck aimed to provide free food to the homeless people in Los Angeles.
  • Two years after, Jaden plans to level up the food assistance and expand the truck into a full-blown restaurant!

Jaden Smith is not done yet with his philanthropic initiatives.

Two years ago, the rapper-actor launched his I Love You food truck which provided free healthy meals to the homeless people in Los Angeles’ Skid Row area. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the truck project gave away brown paper bags, with bowls of carrots and kale, to approximately 8,000 people.

His dad, Will Smith, proudly shared that the food truck idea was Jaden’s personal choice in celebrating his 21st birthday.

“Now THAT is the way to Celebrate your Bday!! I love U, Diggy,” the Bad Boys star wrote.

Now, two years after the launch of his food truck, Jaden is taking it to the next level and wanted to expand the truck into a full-blown restaurant.

“It’s for homeless people to get free food,” Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s eldest son said. “But if you’re not homeless, not only do you have to pay, but you have to pay for more than the food’s worth so that you can pay for the person behind you.”

On Instagram, the now 23-year-old explained that the I Love You restaurant “is a movement that is all about giving people what they deserve, healthy, vegan food for free.”

“Our mission is to spread love to communities experiencing food and/or housing insecurity by offering water along with fresh, high-quality, and delicious sustainable meal options,” his company website states.

You surely make your papa proud, Jaden.
