In Southend, The Forward Trust’s Southend Treatment and Recovery Service opens its arms to anyone ready to begin again. On a sunny September day, Kate Middleton stepped into the Forward Garden to celebrate the peace found in soil, seeds, and shared smiles.

“Inspiring to see people come together through gardening, walking, creativity and conversation, building confidence, developing new skills and helping to shape a dedicated Forward Garden. A lasting place for wellbeing, recovery and connection, where supportive relationships and community can flourish,” she shared on Instagram.

The Princess of Wales has always loved the outdoors, and the garden’s gentle paths echoed her own belief that fresh air and growing things can steady the spirit. She paused to admire blooming flowers and listened to stories of courage and new starts.
