  • A mailman in England shared on Facebook about a little girl’s letter to her dad in heaven, so he could reach her mom and return the letter.
  • It was a successful attempt, and the letter was returned to Sarah Tully.
  • Sarah said that her daughter Sianna has been writing letters to her dad every Christmas, birthday and Father’s Day.

This little girl remembered to send her dad, in heaven, a gift on Father’s Day, and that tells us we have every way to appreciate our living dads.

On Monday, a mailman in Leicestershire, England saw little Sianna’s letter, addressed to her dad in heaven, and took it to a Facebook group called Spotted Braunstone. He asked help to track down the mother of the child so he could return the letter.

“Earlier today I emptied the red pillar box on Bewicke Road (junc. of Folville Avenue) and there was a letter in a child’s handwriting addressed to their dad in heaven, cloud 9. I’m trying to find the parents of the child as I would like to reach out to them and with their permission sort out a little something for the child,” the post said.

“I myself lost my dad last year and as an adult found it hard so I can only imagine what this child is going through,” he continued in the post. “Please, if anyone has any details then it would be hugely appreciated.”

The post harbored a huge engagement, leading the mailman to the mother, Sarah Tully. According to the BBC, it only took 15 minutes for the mailman to reach out the kid’s mom.

Sarah commented on the thread, thanking everyone who helped, showed support on her child’s gesture, and gave their kind wishes to her and her daughter.

“Hi all, I am truly touched by all this,” she said. “I never expected this.”

Sarah shared in an interview with LeicestershireLive that Sianna’s father passed away when she was only four months old. Growing up, she has developed the habit of writing letters to him every Christmas, birthday and Father’s Day.

On Father’s Day, Sarah said that her daughter “just came into the room that evening and asked ‘where does Daddy live?’”

“I told her it was too late to post it at first, but she started crying, so I said ‘come on then’ and we walked to the post box down the street,” Sarah said. And that was how the letter ended up with the mailman’s custody.

Sarah added that Sianna just wanted to give her dad a Father’s Day gift, “like all her friends do.”

The supportive mom said that she doesn’t intend to read the letter returned to her, always telling Sianna that it’s “between her and her dad.”

Sarah is just keeping the letter, along with a collection of kind social media comments, in a memory box for Sianna.

As for Sianna, we bet that would be a special recollection box she will treasure for the rest of her life.
