Little Mouse Hitchhikes on Couple’s Car

Published

  • A couple was surprised to find a little mouse chilling on the front of their car.
  • It didn’t seem to realize that his new ride had humans inside.
  • The woman decided to relocate the mouse to a safer, grassy place away from the road.

A little mouse may have had the ride of its life, oblivious to the humans inside the vehicle.

When G and her boyfriend parked near the grocery store, they had no idea at first that they had a little hitchhiker.

It was only when they started discussing what they would buy when they spotted the little mouse just chilling on the front of their car.

They realized that it may have been there for the whole drive!

He may have been hiding below the hood under the windshield wipers and only popped out when the car stopped. Luckily, it was only a five-minute drive.

When the couple opened the hood later, they found no nest or any indication that the mouse had been there for a long time.

G, who came from the city, was simply “stunned” to see the mouse up close. “Rodents don’t scare/bother me,” she added. “I found him quite adorable actually.”

She added, “He seemed like he was just chilling, exploring the windshield and hood area. I don’t think he realized there were humans inside his ride.”

The little mouse may have survived the ride, but the couple wanted to transfer him somewhere safer.

G took a reusable grocery bag, waited for the little mouse to get in, then safely transferred him to a wooded area near the parking lot away from the road.

“I walked several meters in so he wasn’t released on the edge and put the bag down on its side. He popped out, sniffed around a little, then got spooked when he saw me and dashed into the undergrowth,” she shared.

The mouse didn’t even realize that humans were nearby until he saw G! Thankfully, he made it to his new habitat safely, and the couple will keep a more alert eye for little hitchhikers in the near future.
