Even though our pets can’t tell us with words, we can often read their emotions. They give off plenty of nonverbal cues like jumping up and down, wagging their tail, yelping, and purring, that let us know they’re happy to see us.

In the wild, animals have the same kind of emotional reactions; we just don’t see them as often. Taylor Rabe devotes her life to studying wolves at Yellowstone National Park in Montana.

The animals fascinate her, and sometimes she catches something incredible on camera and shares it on social media. Taylor recently shared a video of a lone wolf reuniting with his pack after being apart for some time.

His reaction is heartwarming.

The Lone Wolf Runs to Reunite with His Pack

In the quick clip, the lone wolf walks slowly and with little excitement until he sees two of his friends approaching. In an instant, his wolf mood changes.

“Look at the BIGGEST grin on 1489M’s face (black wolf on the left) as the rest of his pack comes in after being separated all morning. Quite possibly one of the most adorable faces of all time,” Taylor wrote.

“His grin quickly fades as the rest of the males come in and immediately begin frenzying around.”

Taylor’s followers fell in love with the lone wolf and his reaction.

“Head down, ears down, tail wagging, and submissive smile, all signs of submission and positive intentions. ‘Welcome back guys I remember my place and I’m showing respect,’” some wrote.

“Wolves are the most magnificent of creatures. So beautiful and majestic,” another person observed.

The lone wolf reminded this person of their own beloved pet.

“Omg every single move and expression are exactly how my dog comes running to me when I come home from work, then flops down and shows me his belly. This is so precious! It’s my highlight of the day. I want to bottle up those moments and hang on to them forever,” they shared.

All creatures are different, but deep down, we’re pretty darn similar after all.
