Quick Smiles:

  • Nic is training for the New York City Marathon after an eventful post-show summer.
  • Strong fan support and Olandria’s visit will cheer him on at the finish.
  • He cherishes genuine friendships and looks forward to relaxing downtime.

Since leaving the “Love Island USA” villa, Nic Vansteenberghe has embraced nonstop adventures, including trips and exciting reunions with fellow cast members. Now, he’s channeling his energy into running the New York City Marathon with Team Strava, just months after deciding to join the event.

“Ironically, this week has been the busiest week since leaving the villa,” Nic shares. “I have a marathon to train for, so of course the week of is going to be the busiest.”

With two prior marathons, one as part of an Ironman, Nic is ready for the challenge—even if his training started a bit late. He feels confident, saying, “Hopefully it won’t be too hard.” A supportive crowd, the ability for fans to track his race, and Olandria cheering at the finish all promise to fuel his motivation.

“I think the potential fan involvement is what’s going to get me to the finish line,” he adds.

Nic and Olandria formed a special bond on Season 7, delighting fans with their chemistry and securing the runner-up spot. Since then, they’ve tackled interviews, sponsorships, and new adventures side by side.

“I feel like it’s been a year in the last four months with the way that things are going,” Nic remarks. Finding balance has meant enjoying small moments of calm amidst all the excitement.

At a recent Miami launch event, Nic reconnected with Rob Rausch and Kendall Washington from Season 6. Learning from his predecessors, he discovered the value in staying authentic. “The biggest takeaway is just being who you are, and if people can’t accept that, then they’re not your cup of tea.”

Maintaining his marathon regimen brings peace to his busy life. Early-morning runs clear his mind and help him prepare for race day. Nic hopes to beat his previous time of five hours and twenty minutes, aiming to finish this marathon in under five hours.

Looking ahead, Nic and Olandria are eager for a restful November together. “At this point, we’re looking for just a breath of fresh air from all the hectic-ness,” he says.

“I’ve said this before, like I want to go on our hot air balloon date, I want to do all these things — but at this point, I’m like, I just want to sit on a couch and do nothing with her,” he adds. “That sounds elite.”

Keep rooting for Nic as he races towards new memories, supported by fans, friends, and love. Want more uplifting updates? Stay tuned!
