Quick Smiles:

  • Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi bonded deeply while filming “Wuthering Heights.”
  • The duo’s director, Emerald Fennell, encouraged their chemistry with playful gestures.
  • Both stars shared gratitude for their unexpected Hollywood journey.

Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, united by their Australian heritage, found a special connection on the set of their upcoming film “Wuthering Heights.”

The movie, inspired by Emily Brontë’s classic novel, follows the intense relationship of Heathcliff and Catherine and is directed by Emerald Fennell.

To help them embrace their roles, director Fennell decorated their dressing rooms as shrines dedicated to each other, complete with personal touches.

“At the studio, we both had a dressing room. Emerald went into our dressing rooms and made a shrine of each other in our dressing rooms.”

Robbie shared.

“Funny and fantastic,” Elordi said.

“It was so unhinged and so hilarious.”

“And she put, like, locks of hair and pictures of us, candles and made a full shrine…”

“Mine was a Jacob shrine.”

“He had a Margot shrine.”

“It was so funny.”

Robbie explained that their director helped set high expectations for their on-screen romance, and both actors pushed themselves to meet that challenge.

Throughout their press tour, the stars celebrated each other’s commitment and talent.

Robbie even revealed that she became “codependent” on Elordi during filming.

“I love everyone so much and I’m always that person who’s so devastated when a job’s over and I never want it to end,” she said.

“I think I developed that quite quickly with Jacob, too.”

Elordi spoke warmly about Robbie’s influence.

“If you have the opportunity to share a film set with Margot Robbie, you’re going to make sure you’re within 5 to 10 meters at all times, watching how she drinks tea, how she eats her food. She’s an elite actor.”

Robbie also said she “can’t imagine” working on the movie with anyone else.

“It would’ve been really difficult to do this role and play this relationship with someone who didn’t approach work in a same way that I do and that I didn’t genuinely get along with,” she said.

“We both work hard and we both love what we do.”

Elordi shared that he had admired Robbie’s work since her days on the Australian soap opera.

“Neighbours.”

Looking back, both actors marvel at how far they have come, now both Oscar nominees and starring together in a major film.

“It’s like a silly big dream, you know?” Elordi said.
