When it came time for her son Duke’s senior prom, designer and homesteader Joanna Gaines created the most thoughtful send-off imaginable—hand-grown and handcrafted bouquets and boutonnieres straight from her Texas farm.

The former Fixer Upper star shared a touching video on April 18th that captured her second-eldest son Duke’s special night. The footage showcased the beautiful floral pieces she and friends created for the teens heading to the dance.

The DIY expert and a few fellow moms spent the day in the garden crafting the arrangements from pastel spring flowers she’d grown herself. The stunning bouquets featured hydrangeas, delphiniums, roses, snapdragons, and more—all lovingly cultivated in her own backyard.

Joanna’s video highlighted every step of the process, from selecting blooms to assembling the finished arrangements. She also captured the magical moments as the teens gathered for photos on her picturesque property, with her brand-new golden retriever puppies making sweet appearances.

“Prom 2026,” she captioned the heartwarming post.

“Nothing like hanging in the garden all day for prom prep with some sweet mamas. When the kids showed up they were gracious to let us take a million pics of them.”

The beautiful gesture resonated deeply with her followers, who flooded the comments with admiration.

“Flowers and puppies!!!! Perfect combo!” one person gushed.

“Can you imagine? ‘Prom photos, 6 pm, the Gaines farm,’” another dreamed.

“This is so precious,” a fan wrote. “And well done on those beautiful bouquets!!!”

Duke’s prom marks a bittersweet milestone as he approaches his final days in high school. Next month he’ll celebrate his 18th birthday, and come fall, he’ll head off to college as the third of Joanna’s children to leave home.

Joanna and her husband Chip share five children together: sons Drake, 21, Duke, 17, and Crew, 7, plus daughters Ella, 19, and Emmie, 16. The tight-knit family continues to cherish these precious moments as their older children prepare for the next chapter.
