  • Pope Francis blessed the conversion of his old popemobile into a mobile clinic.
  • The vehicle can treat up to 200 children a day in Gaza.
  • Caritas Sweden led the transformation, inspired by the Pope’s compassion.

Pope Francis gave his blessing to turn his former popemobile into a mobile children’s clinic for Gaza. The project is led by the Swedish chapter of Caritas, transforming the vehicle to serve up to 200 kids daily.

The popemobile began as a Mitsubishi pickup, later gifted to Pope Francis in Bethlehem by Mahmoud Abbas. Now refitted, its mission is to bring hope and medical care to children where help is needed most.

“This vehicle stands as a testimony that the world has not forgotten the children of Gaza,” said Cardinal Anders Arborelius of Stockholm.

Pope Francis often called Christian communities in Gaza, urging an end to conflict and relief for civilians. The mobile clinic stands as a symbol of his care and ongoing efforts for peace.

“We know how much Pope Francis loved the people of the Holy Land, the people of Bethlehem, and especially the people of Gaza,” said Father Ibrahim Faltas, representative of the Franciscan Friars to the State of Palestine.

Stories like these show the power of compassion to spark real change. Let’s share and celebrate acts of hope that uplift those in need.
