Prince Harry has reconnected with his father, King Charles III, marking their first meeting in over a year and a half.

The pair shared a private tea at Clarence House on September 10, as confirmed by Buckingham Palace officials, offering them cherished time together.

Harry’s London visit coincides with the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing and provided an opportunity to support British charities close to his heart.

The Duke of Sussex has not seen his father in person since early 2024, shortly after King Charles’s cancer diagnosis.

In a recent BBC interview, Harry opened up about his desire to mend family ties.

“I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight. Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has. It would be nice to reconcile,” he shared.

Security concerns have made visits more challenging for the prince. Following a change in security arrangements, Harry has found it harder to return to the UK with his family.

Harry described the loss of his security appeal as a “surprise,” adding, “My father won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.”

He further reflected, “I’m devastated — not so much as devastated with the loss that I am about the people behind the decision, feeling as though this is OK. Is it a win for them?”

Harry expressed his wish to one day bring Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet back to experience his homeland.

“I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point. And the things that they’re going to miss are, well, everything,” he said.

He added, “I love my country, I always have done, despite what some people in that country have done … and I think that it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”

The visit takes place shortly after Meghan’s lifestyle series premiered its new season, reinforcing the family’s ongoing commitment to their passions and each other.
