A good deed deserves another good deed in return.  And this could be why a parrot who was rescued when she was just a baby would adopt abandoned kittens.

Louro and her sibling were found by farmer Josemar Milli and his wife on the ground in the woods near their home in Brazil.  The couple brought them home and cared for them until they were able to go back into the wild.

The other bird flew and never came back while Louro decided to stay home even if she was free to go as she pleased.  She would fly and go on adventures during the day but would come home by evening.  She loves perching on Milli’s shoulder.

But for the past three nights, even if she came home, Louro did not sleep inside the house.

Milli was wondering where she was sleeping and what kept her staying near a [hollow] wooden fencepost. And so, he went to check and got a surprise!

Inside the post was a nest with not eggs but three little kittens!

Milli thought that maybe the neighbor’s cats gave birth there and just abandoned the kitties.  And Louro just instinctively followed what she was shown— to take care of the babies like what she received from Millie and his wife.

It also enabled Milli to get to the kittens in time to give them the necessary attention as even with Milli trying to get the mom to like them, the mom still rejected them.

And just like what they did to Louro and her sibling, they also brought the kittens home. Now, they are being showered with love and affection by the family, including the family’s cat.

Thanks to Louro, the cycle of giving and sharing love no matter what species lives on.
