Rod Stewart showed his true strength and dedication during a recent concert in Utah, reminding fans why he’s been a beloved performer for decades. The Da Ya Think I’m Sexy? singer needed oxygen while performing at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheater in West Valley City on June 19, but like the trooper he is, he took a few breaths and continued the show.

The 81-year-old had been dealing with sinus issues at the end of May, which led him to postpone some residency shows at Caesar’s Palace. But that didn’t stop him from powering through and giving fans the performance they came to see.

Days after the health scare, Rod shared a touching post in honor of Father’s Day on June 21. On June 22, he penned an emotional tribute to his dear friend, music industry legend Clive Davis, following his passing.

“Lost for words! A day I’ve been dreading! A giant of a man in the music business. I owe Clive so much. The force behind J Records, he was the only one who believed a rock singer could sing the standards with conviction. Other labels rejected the idea, and so The Great American Songbook was born, selling close to 40 million copies,” Rod wrote.

“We had some wonderful, unforgettable times together, but for now, Mr. Davis, it’s goodbye, my dear friend. Rod Stewart.”

While Rod hasn’t spoken publicly about his recent health moment, fans continue to shower him with love and well wishes.

“I’m so sorry for your loss, @sirrodstewart. I hope you’re feeling well. And I hope to see you again in Vegas,” a fan wrote. “Legend.”

Another fan shared a touching message that perfectly captures how Rod has touched so many lives. “My heart goes out to you and I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m thankful he gave you that chance when no one else would. I’ve been a major fan of your’s since I was a child. I saw you once when I attended the TV guide awards in LA….I believe it was in 2001. You were the guest entertainer and you came right up to my table and sang for a bit. I nearly fainted. Meeting or seeing you live was on my bucket list. I pray your health improves. My prayers are with your lovely family too,” they wrote.

The outpouring of support shows just how much Rod Stewart means to his fans worldwide. His dedication to his craft and his gracious spirit continue to inspire people of all ages.
