The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree tradition continues with a stunning Norway Spruce donated by the Russ family, bringing a heartwarming start to the holiday season. Judy Russ shared her excitement, saying,
“I’m excited to make more cherished memories with my family and childhood friends as it becomes the world’s Christmas tree.”
Head gardener Erik Pauze, who selected the tree, expressed his enthusiasm;
“As soon as I saw it, I knew it was perfect.”
He added,
“What I look for is a tree you’d want in your living room, but on a grander scale. It needs to make people smile the second they see it.”
This 75-foot marvel is set to arrive at Rockefeller Center on November 8, and will be dazzling visitors with 50,000 colorful, energy-efficient LED lights strung on five miles of wire, all topped with a breathtaking Swarovski star boasting three million crystals and weighing nearly 900 pounds. The lighting ceremony will take place during the live “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” broadcast on December 3 at 8 p.m. ET.
The tree will remain on display until mid-January 2026, after which it will be repurposed into lumber for Habitat for Humanity, continuing its legacy of giving.
The holidays shine a little brighter when communities come together to celebrate, give back, and create lasting memories.
