Sixteen-year-old Hansel Enmanuel from the Dominican Republic is quickly becoming a rising star in basketball, and he does it all with just one arm.
Hansel grew up in Santo Domingo. At 6 years old, he was trapped beneath a fallen wall and was only rescued two long hours later. He tragically lost his arm as it had to be amputated.
Now, teenage Hansel has become a reliable part of his high school’s basketball team, with his talent recognized across the world.
Hansel chose to look past the accident. Instead of seeing it as a tragic loss, he viewed the whole experience as a life lesson from God. He was alive, after all.
The experience filled him with determination, which made his talent shine through.
His undeniable talent scored him a scholarship that brought him to the United States. Now, he plays basketball for Life Christian Academy in Kissimmee, Florida.
Hansel’s talent earned him a lot of fans, especially with the rise of social media. The online world was amazed as videos of his gameplay circulated and went viral.
