The American Kennel Club (AKC) offers insight into the borzoi breed, describing them as stylish, large sight-hounds capable of reaching speeds up to 40 mph. Adult male borzoi typically stands at around 28 inches at the shoulder and weighs between 75 and 105 pounds. These dogs, formerly recognized as the Russian wolfhound, were bred for their speed and strength, primarily utilized for chasing and securing challenging prey.
