This year’s Comedy Wildlife Awards shortlist puts a joyful spotlight on nature’s comedic side, with unforgettable photos like a gorilla dancing, a bear making a silly face, and a duck appearing to smoke. These candid animal moments remind us of wildlife’s charm while drawing attention to the importance of protecting animals and habitats.

According to Stefan Maier of Nikon Europe, “These images combine wit and wonder to celebrate nature’s character, while emphasising the urgency of conservation.”

Co-founder Tom Sullam noted, “[We are] reaching more people in more countries than ever before, helping us raise awareness of animal and habitat conservation and crucially, highlight the fundamental importance of having wildlife on our planet and in our lives.”

The competition not only delights audiences but also donates a portion of its profits to the Whitley Fund for Nature, which has supported grassroots conservationists with over £24 million. Voting for the People’s Choice Award will open from December, inviting the public to join in celebrating and supporting wildlife worldwide.
