A groundbreaking study in BMC Medicine reveals that yo-yo dieting, or weight cycling, brings long-term benefits by shrinking harmful visceral fat.

This largest MRI-based trial followed 300 participants through two 18-month diet programs, showing repeated efforts create positive cardiometabolic memory even after weight regain.

Participants displayed 15% to 25% better insulin sensitivity and lipid profiles compared to starting levels.
