Young Man Given Months To Live Now Inspires Others After Beating Aggressive Blood Cancer [Video]

  • Michael Cramer was diagnosed with aggressive and rare blood cancer in 2020.
  • He went through intensive rounds of chemotherapy and other treatments then tried a new treatment in 2022 that stopped the cancer and led to his remission.
  • Michael now shares the miracle of his healing on social media in the hopes to inspire others to have faith.

Michael Cramer thought that weight loss, fatigue and night sweats were caused by the stress induced by the COVID-19 lockdowns.  But upon blood tests, a specialist told him that he had Hepatosplenic T-cell Lymphoma (HSTCL).  He was warned that he may have just eight months to live.

As aggressive as the cancer was, he also aggressively fought it with immediate three rounds of intensive chemotherapy at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami. And later that summer in 2020, he had a bone marrow transplant.

The transplant could have saved his life but instead, he had a severe complication called Graft vs. Host Disease (GVHD).  The donor cells attacked his cells! It affected his gastrointestinal tract, his skin and caused the liver failure that would have ended his life.

Michael said, “The transplant was horrible. I felt so low. It was a long, slow journey of hospital trips, infusions, and so many setbacks.”

Among the setbacks were a stomach paralysis from the removal of his gallbladder and avascular necrosis on both his knees that made him powerless to walk.

In January 2022, his liver failure and a host of other treatments overwhelmed his body and his skin turned yellow.

Fortunately, in June, he began a new treatment called extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) at the University of Miami Cancer Institute.  It involves the separation of his blood, treating it, and then returning it back to his body.  And that started the turnaround in his health— Michael’s cancer disappeared!

Michael now shares the miracle of his healing online on TikTok and Instagram and in a podcast with his mom, Ashlee, called Michael and Mom Talk Cancer. Cancer survivors from all over the globe now have a support system.

Michael said, “Ultimately, having thousands of people understand and relate to me got me through it, so I’m so grateful that I have created this kind of space.”

He says he has wanted to give up so many times but never did.  His inspiration comes from a poster on the wall in the hospital that says, “It’s not what happens to you, but how you react that matters.”

To all who are fighting cancer and other debilitating diseases, have hope. Have faith. Be positive.  Never give up. Believe in miracles. Michael is living proof.
