Television personality Sadie Robertson Huff recently shared a terrifying experience with her baby that she wants all parents to know about. In April 2026, her baby girl, Kit, choked as Sadie prepared dinner.

She rushed Kit to the hospital and soon discovered a bigger underlying issue.

A Scary Diagnosis Unfolds

Sadie explained on her podcast that her baby girl has laryngomalacia. The condition affects the airway in a way that can make breathing difficult.

“It’s, like, their little airway, their voice box is supposed to be a little hole, but it’s actually going to be shaped like this because the skin is kind of bent, and that’s what makes it kind of flop, and that’s what makes her sound loud when she breathes,” Sadie explained. “He says it’s really, most of the time, nothing to worry about as long as she’s eating fine, her oxygen levels are good.”

After Kit choked twice, Sadie knew things were more serious than the doctor thought. Kit underwent surgery recently, which has changed everything, and she seems to be perfectly on the mend.

Sadie shared a heartwarming post of gratitude from the hospital as she sang to her baby girl in early May.

“God is faithful, He is good, He is an ever-present help in times of trouble, He is a provider and protector. And the church is a wonderful place that displays His love in times like this,” Sadie wrote. “It is hard to know how to step back into reality after times like this, but we will one day and one moment at a time trusting the Lord will meet us in it! Thank you all for your prayers!”

The young mother’s faith and courage through this ordeal is truly inspiring. Her willingness to share this scary health journey helps other parents recognize warning signs and seek help when needed.
