Along the way, she meets Maui, the demigod voiced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Nearly a decade after the first animated film’s release, Walt Disney brought Moana to life in a live-action film, once again starring Dwayne Johnson as Maui.

This time, Dwayne collaborated with American Idol winner Iam Tongi for the song “Your Dad” on the film’s Moana: Voices Across the Ocean companion album. Dwayne Johnson said his daughters served as an inspiration.

Dwayne Johnson said he explained things to Jasmine as simply as he could.

Sometimes life can be challenging, and you have challenges in life. You don’t feel it now, maybe you do a little bit being 10, but one day you’ll feel it. You’ll just feel the pressure of life.

Without you even knowing, you took my heart, and you pulled me through just by being who you are. So I want to empower you with that. That’s what that line means.
