Quick Smiles:

  • Andy Cohen focuses on health over weight loss numbers.
  • Simple changes in fitness and diet have boosted his well-being.
  • He candidly shares his wellness journey to inspire others.

Andy Cohen has been looking slimmer lately, but he says his main goal is to feel healthy rather than focus on a number on the scale.

On a recent appearance, Cohen spoke about choosing to begin his wellness journey after realizing he couldn’t button his suits, admitting being on television made him more aware of his appearance.

“We all notice ourselves, and especially when we’re on TV and we’re looking at a freaking monitor of ourselves every day, (it’s) terrible. If you watch the ‘Valley’ reunion from last season, which I know you will, I do not look my best. Let me say that,”

He shared that seeing himself on screen inspired him to make a change and adopt new habits.

“I was microdosing a GLP, whatever it’s called,”

GLP-1 medications help mimic hormones that signal fullness and can help reduce appetite, which Cohen says helped him start his journey.

Asked if microdosing was enough, he replied,

“It was enough for me. It kickstarted something,”

Cohen also revamped his fitness routine and now pays closer attention to nutrition and exercise, including lifting heavier weights.

He described the process as a real fitness journey and emphasized the importance of being thoughtful about diet and movement.

Previously, Cohen discussed his decision to start microdosing after consulting his doctor, explaining he wanted to address not just weight concerns, but also arterial health and blood pressure.

“My doctor and I talked about this last year. (They) had recommended a GLP-1 a few times to not only address what I was feeling about my weight, but treat plaque in my arteries and high blood pressure. This is a medication that actually is beneficial to a lot of elements of health. And I finally said yes,”

He emphasized that sharing his approach felt important because of how openly he discusses wellness with guests and the public.

“Given that for 20 years I have been asking people about their body regimens, I do I think it would be completely hypocritical not to share that I did … lose a good chunk of weight by microdosing a GLP-1 all summer.”

Experts note that microdosing a medication should only be considered with a doctor’s advice, as more research is needed to confirm safety for everyone.

Inspired by his progress, Cohen continues to prioritize health and encourages others to find approaches that work best for their unique journeys.
