  • High school choir student performs tear-jerking rendition of Beach Boys classic with a family twist
  • Proud mom shares heartwarming video of her daughter honoring her legendary grandfather’s legacy
  • Fans left ‘with goosebumps and tears’ after hearing the pure, emotional performance

Musical talent runs deep in some families, and one high school student just proved it in the most beautiful way. When Lola Bonfiglio took the stage with her choir at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, she delivered a performance that left everyone in tears — for all the right reasons.

The touching moment began when the choir director asked Lola to tell the audience about her grandfather. With a humble smile, she simply said he’s “Brian from the Beach Boys.” That’s right — her grandfather is Brian Wilson, the legendary Beach Boys co-founder who wrote some of the most iconic songs in American music history.

Lola then sang God Only Knows, one of her grandfather’s most beloved compositions, filling the room with emotion and nostalgia. The performance was so moving that her mother, Carnie Wilson — herself a music superstar as a member of 1990s trio Wilson Phillips — couldn’t help but share the proud moment on social media.

Fans were absolutely captivated by the young singer’s incredible voice and the beautiful family connection.

“I love watching this over and over. I bet her Grandma Wilson was so proud of her singing this song. I bet her Grandpa Wilson was so proud of her singing this. Every time I watch this it gives me goosebumps and tears to my eyes. It is one of the most beautiful songs,” one fan wrote.

Another viewer appreciated witnessing such a special generational moment.

“For all of us who grew up with Brian Wilson I can only say we’re all honored to listen to this amazing interpretation by his granddaughters choir.”

The heartwarming responses kept pouring in.

“Beautifully done…. Nice to see music continues to run through the family. The whole family should be very proud of her,” another person shared.

Carnie Wilson has been her daughter’s biggest cheerleader every step of the way. Earlier this year, she and her sister, Wendy Wilson, accompanied Lola to her American Idol audition — yes, the talented teen is also competing on the beloved singing competition! The trio even performed Wilson Phillips’ hit song Hold On together, creating another unforgettable family moment.

“So surreal to sing for everyone I’m so proud of Lola and I can’t wait to hear her audition!!!!!!! we love you, American Idol,” Carnie shared on Instagram.

From Brian Wilson to Carnie Wilson to Lola Bonfiglio, this family proves that extraordinary musical gifts can be passed down through generations — along with humility, heart, and the ability to move people to tears with pure, beautiful sound. What a legacy of love and music to celebrate!
