- New evidence shows outdoor time could support both body image and nutrition
A new study has discovered that contact with nature may help people develop healthier eating habits. The research from Anglia Ruskin University in the UK is reportedly the first to provide evidence that exposure to natural environments can influence people’s relationship with food.
The study, published in the journal Body Image, involved 500 UK adults.
“This is the first study to provide evidence that exposure to natural environments can influence people’s relationship with food,” said the researchers.
Participants reported better body image and healthier eating patterns after spending time outdoors. The findings suggest that nature-based activities could become a simple, accessible way to support both mental and physical wellness.
