Little Dog ‘Went Ballistic’ Seeing Human Sister After 2 Years Of Pandemic Separation [Video]

• Peanut the Chihuahua and his human sister, Malaika, have not seen each other for two years because of the pandemic’s strict traffic restrictions.
• This is the longest that they have not seen each other and Malaika was worried Peanut might not remember her anymore.
• When Malaika came home, Peanut did not recognize her until she talked and that’s when he went berserk.

Peanut the Chihuahua has gotten used to his human sister, Malaika Jaovisidha, leaving home and coming back every few months after.  He understood that his sister had to go to school.

Each parting and reunion were emotional and Peanut would lick Malaika’s face whenever they would see each other again.

Malaika said, “Each reunion is just as exciting as the last, no matter if I’ve been away for a week or months. But I never usually [left] for more than 4–6 months at a time.”

But then the pandemic happened in 2020, and all over the world strict travel restrictions were imposed.  Jaovisidha could not get home to Thailand from Australia.

She has never been away for that long. She was afraid that Peanut had forgotten about her. She did not know what to expect.

True enough, when she arrived at the airport, even if the senior Chihuahua saw her, the pup did not recognize her!

Malaika recalled, “All he did was look at me and wag his tail. This is how he usually greets strangers who come over to pet him.”

But the moment that she called him his name, Peanut recognized her voice instantly and he went ballistic. Malaika said, “He started crying and couldn’t stop climbing all over me to give me kisses!”

Malaika has missed cuddling him and now they are making up for lost time through taking walks and cuddling and all the things that they love doing together.
