Quick Smiles:

  • Oreo introduces its first-ever zero sugar cookies in the US.
  • Both Original and Double Stuf versions will be available permanently starting January 2026.
  • Each pack comes preportioned for mindful snacking, with just two cookies inside.

A new twist on a classic favorite is arriving soon for cookie fans: Oreo Zero Sugar will be available nationwide in 2026. Sweetened with a blend of alternatives like maltitol, polydextrose, sucralose, and acesulfame potassium, these cookies arrive without any aspartame.

The zero sugar Oreos come packaged in a handy stand-up bag, featuring packs of two for easy portion control. The aim is to help people enjoy a sweet treat while keeping wellness goals in mind.

Each mini pack of cookies has 90 calories, 1 gram of saturated fat, no trans fat, and no added sugar.

Registered dietitian Natalie Rizzo shares,

“Sorbitol is a type of carbohydrate that is less sweet and calorie dense than sugar, but it still has some calories and carbohydrates. It doesn’t spike blood sugar as much as sugar, but it still does affect blood sugar levels a little bit.”

She also notes large amounts of sorbitol may cause stomach discomfort, so moderation is key.

“Some people with diabetes or those who are watching their sugar intake may opt for sugar-free Oreos to manage blood sugar levels,” she says. “In my opinion, regular and sugar-free Oreos are ultra-processed snacks with little nutritive value, so eat both sparingly.”
