  • One man managed to save 24 people and 2 dogs from the blizzard in Buffalo, New York.
  • He broke a window of a school to let the people in and they ate whatever snack and water just enough for their needs.
  • The Police found the man and commended him instead of arresting him for his good deed.

In what could be the ‘worst snow storm in a generation’ according to local police near Buffalo, New York, a hero emerged.

This hero broke the window of a school and left this note for the police:

“Got stuck at 8 p.m. Friday and slept in my truck with two strangers. Just trying not to die.”

“There were 7 elderly people also stuck and out of fuel. I had to do it to save everyone and get them shelter and food and a bathroom.” “Merry Christmas, Jay.”

When the police examined the school’s surveillance video they were amazed. The Department’s Facebook Page reported, “We witnessed people taking care of people.”

Jay brought 24 people in from the storm and 2 dogs.

They ate the granola bars, water, apples, juice and cereal and used the blankets from the nurses’ office.

While they sheltered at the gym, kids played and adults watched storm updates and football games.

The police on Facebook added, “When they were finally able to leave safely, you never would have known anyone was there. This group of amazing people cleaned up all the tables… and the building they found shelter in.”

The police wanted to know who the mysterious Jay was and commend him for “actions that one-hundred-percent saved lives”.

They announced on Facebook when they found him: ‘Because of Jay Withey, people are still alive.’

One of those people who Jay saved, Sandy Black said, “It was an ordeal but thanks to Jay we all had a place to stay warm.”

Jay for his part said, “I’m just grateful that I had the opportunity, and I had the will to do it.”

A reunion is in the works in Spring for the little “family” that was formed as they kept each other alive.

Another survivor, Mario Johnson, who now considers Jay as his little brother, vowed to replace the snacks and water and even inquired about the cost of repairing the window.  But the school is not letting him pay nor press charges against them and Jay.

According to the Police spokesperson, “The selflessness that people showed to help others during the storm is what Western NY is really made of.”

Thank you, Jay!
