  • Tiffani Thiessen still treasures her first time exploring Europe as a teenager on the show
  • The beloved actress credits her time on set with opening doors she never imagined
  • Traveling to 146 countries and meeting fans around the world left her feeling grateful and amazed

“Saved by the Bell” was more than just a television show. The characters served as role models for millions of teenagers trying to get through a challenging season of life. We all had our favorites, but Kelly Kapowski, played by Tiffani Thiessen, was the one that both teenage boys and girls loved. Girls wanted to look like her, and she was plenty of boys’ dream girl. It’s been more than 30 years since the final episode, and Tiffani still has very fond memories of her days at Bayside High.

During a recent interview, Tiffani Thiessen recalled her teenage days on “Saved by the Bell.” The show was her first major acting role, and sometimes the show’s popularity took her by surprise.

“When you go on a show or a movie, you never know how it’s going to translate or be received by an audience,” she said. “I had no idea the sort of widespread phenomenon that it was going to be.”

Tiffani told Parade that “Saved by the Bell” gave her opportunities that she never would have otherwise had.

“I think the ones that I probably enjoyed the most were when we were able to get out of the set and actually do something a little different,” she said. “We did a whole summer series where we were literally in Malibu the whole summer. I also remember the travel that we got to do when the show got really big, and it was in like 146 countries. They took us on a European tour. And that to me was like one of the biggest memories I’ve had. It was the first time I’d ever been to Europe. And I’m going, ‘This is something probably most 16-year-olds never got to do.’ Traveling and meeting people and seeing countries that I had never seen before.”
