Spoiled Pup Puts up Dramatic Act After Getting Tiny ‘Papercut’

Jean Mosher met Jaqweenie at the shelter in December three years ago. “He was the only dog wearing a jacket because he was so cold. And I saw him through the slats in the fence, and he was just so cute. You could also kind of tell he was going to be a jerk based on his face,” she recalled. But despite looking entitled and spoiled from the get-go, Jean fell in love with him and had to take him home from the shelter.

Jaqweenie has always had a sassy look because of a very large overbite.

But last week, Jean witnessed the pup’s most dramatic expression yet.

Jaqweenie was playing at the dog park when he suddenly stopped, sat down, and trembled.

“I went over, and he was shaking and panting and curling his little foot up,” Jean recalled. Several people soon gathered to see what had injured his paw.

Jean was soon worried. The pup has braved surgeries to remove some teeth due to his misaligned jaw, so Jean knew that the pup had a high tolerance for pain.

Seeing such a reaction prompted Jean to rush him to the vet.

“We rushed him over there, and that’s when we discovered nothing was wrong,” Jean shared.

The vet suggested that one of his knees may have popped out of joint, but it wasn’t an issue.

Then Jean asked the vet to check Jaqweenie’s paw one last time, and she “found a cut so tiny that it didn’t bleed. She said it was essentially a papercut.”

The tiny cut didn’t even need a bandage, but Jean thought it would make the pup feel better.

And so, the vet wrapped the pup’s foot and Jean got a $150 vet bill.

She says it’s worth it, however, “to make him feel seen and taken care of.”

The spoiled pup continued his dramatic act throughout the day. He even limped around the house and demanded to be carried and cuddled.

Jean shared, “He had the bandage for a full 24 hours, but the next night he took it off himself and was walking perfectly fine. I assumed he was so tough from being a stray the first year of his life, but I think he’s gotten a little soft.”

Jean now knows just how far Jaqweenie will go to make sure he’s still everyone’s baby.
