  • TODAY anchors delivered festive trees across NBC offices
  • Beloved “Tree on Three” tradition brought to new departments
  • Holiday cheer and carols brightened everyone’s day

The cherished “Tree on Three” tradition at Rockefeller Center grew even bigger this year as the TODAY team delivered 3-foot-tall decorated trees throughout 30 Rock. Spreading warmth and laughter, they brought carols and holiday spirit to NBC departments including WNBC, the NBC pages, Nightly News, and Kelly Clarkson’s show.

The tradition, started a decade ago by Chelsea Damberg, brings everyone together for a joyful break in the busy days of December.

“This tree is joy,” she shared on Dec. 4. “It is a moment in our busy days that are nonstop and 24/7 for us to come together and spend time with each other.”

Savannah Guthrie inspired the idea to extend the holiday magic, rallying Carson Daly, Al Roker, Jenna Bush Hager, and Craig Melvin to help spread happiness around the building.

Anchors like Reba McEntire and the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders have helped light the small office tree, but this year, the event became a traveling celebration, brightening the days of many colleagues.

Kelly Clarkson happily joined in the fun as the crew serenaded her with carols and left decorations for her Emmy trophies.

“Aww, I love it! I love that you all came!” Clarkson exclaimed.
