Twins Celebrate 100th Birthday with Laughter and Lifelong Adventures

Quick Smiles:
- Identical twins Bill and Jack Casey celebrate their 100th birthday in style.
- Bill attributes his longevity to a mix of healthy living, staying active, and good genes.
- The twins share a deep bond, having served together in the army and enjoyed a life full of adventures.
Bill Casey and his identical twin brother Jack recently hit an incredible milestone: their 100th birthday. The duo marked this special occasion with a lively celebration at a retirement home in Oxfordshire, England, surrounded by friends, cake, and drinks.
Photos from the event capture the pair in high spirits, donning inflatable crowns and proudly displaying birthday cards from King Charles. Bill, the elder by ten minutes, has embraced an artistic lifestyle, taking up painting during his retirement. He also dedicates 20 minutes each day to exercise, maintaining his health and vitality.
Reflecting on his century of life, Bill considers the computer to be the most significant invention he has witnessed, marveling at its “amazing possibilities.” When asked about the secret to his longevity, he credited “clean and healthy living, staying active, sheer determination, and good genes.”
“I always intended to reach 100 and now it’s here, I’m looking forward to the next 100!” he exclaimed. His advice for the younger generation is simple yet profound: “have an interest in sports – and keep yourself active.”
Originally hailing from south London, the twins embarked on a shared adventure by joining the army in 1945. As part of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, they spent 15 months in Malaysia, where Bill admits they “got up to lots of tricks being identical twins.”
Bill’s life took a romantic turn when he met his future wife, Joan, in Wales in 1951. The couple married, had a son, and eventually settled in Surrey, England. Bill carved out a successful career as a skills and training instructor for the Government, retiring as a manager in 1984.
Now residing at Williams Place retirement home, Bill is cherished by the community. Nina Woodbridge, the manager, shared her admiration, saying, “Bill is such a warm and friendly member of our lovely community, having lived here for five years.”
“He’s got a great sense of humor and loves having a laugh with the team and his neighbors,” she added. “We’re so happy to share his special day with Bill and his brother.”
As they celebrate this remarkable milestone, the twins continue to inspire those around them with their zest for life and enduring bond.
