School Includes Photo Of Adorable Service Dog In Yearbook Next To Her Best Friend
- Hadley Jo and her best friend pup, Ariel, are inseparable and they do all things together.
- Ariel even goes to school with Hadley Jo because he serves as her seizure alert service dog.
- When the school yearbook was put together, the school decided to include Ariel’s photo next to her favorite person on Earth.
For Hadley Jo and her best friend, Ariel, life is so much better when they are together—and all the people who have met them would agree.
The little girl and her pup are such an adorable pair who do things together all the time, and go wherever one goes. They simply are inseparable. But more than their sweet friendship, their relationship goes beyond that.
Ariel is a service dog and he helps Hadley Jo manage her special needs. “Ariel is Hadley Jo’s seizure alert service dog,” Hadley Jo’s mom, Heather DeVore Lange, told The Dodo. “Ariel saves my daughter’s life by alerting us before a seizure happens, allowing us to administer rescue medication in less than two minutes. My goal is to provide my daughter an independent life as much as possible and Ariel helps to make that happen.”
That is why they stick together for each other no matter what. Ariel even goes to school with his best friend. And Hadley Jo’s class has learned to embrace Ariel and treat the pup like one of their own.
That certainly shows when they included Ariel in the school’s yearbook alongside her favorite person. For Heather, that simple act of including her daughter’s service dog and bestfriend in the precious memento, has deeply moved her.
“I have to admit I teared up,” she said. “The inclusiveness and acceptance of my daughter and her service dog means the world to me. It is beyond comforting to know that my daughter and her service dog have a home away from their home, at school, and that they are loved. They are accepted regardless of their differences.”
Just as much Ariel makes Hadley Jo happier, the pair makes the people they meet feel the same. For sure, as Hadley Jo grows and learns, Ariel will continue to be her best friend and hero.
“Hadley Jo likes to tell people, ‘Ariel keeps me safe,’” Heather said. “Ariel goes everywhere Hadley Jo goes. We are so blessed as a family to have her.”
