Michael Jordan has once again taken a significant step in supporting his community by opening another health clinic in North Carolina.

This marks the fourth ‘Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic’ in the state, with the latest addition located in Wilmington.

The clinic is a collaboration with Novant Health and will officially open its doors to patients on February 19.

Its mission is to provide primary care to all individuals, especially those without insurance or with limited coverage.

The 7,300-square-foot clinic houses twelve patient rooms and will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.

Michael Jordan expressed his satisfaction with the impact of the clinics, stating:

“It’s truly gratifying to know that in less than a year, our first clinic in Wilmington has already made a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of individuals and families in my hometown.”

His visit to Wilmington for the first clinic’s opening was an emotional experience, reinforcing the importance of accessible health care.

Ernie Bovio, president of the Novant Health Coastal Region, shared his appreciation for Jordan’s contributions:

“We are profoundly grateful to Michael Jordan for his generosity and vision in making these two clinics a reality in our community.”

The initial Wilmington clinic served nearly 1,800 patients in its first nine months, showcasing the demand and impact of these facilities.

The clinic concept was first introduced in Charlotte in 2019, addressing barriers such as transportation, and has been a source of hope for many.

With a $10 million donation from Jordan, two additional clinics were established in Wilmington, further extending their reach.

Starting next week, appointments can be scheduled at the East Wilmington clinic by calling 910-833-9140.

Beyond primary care, the clinic offers patients access to community resources through a dedicated health worker.

Both Wilmington clinics also support a Community Care Cruiser, enhancing their service across the region.
